Veteran's Day events expected to draw crowds

The country is getting ready for Veteran’s Day and there are many ceremonies planned across Nebraska. Fred Tisdale is the Commander of American Legion Post 1 in Omaha and says one of the ceremonies in the metro area will be held at Memorial Park starting at 11 am.
Local, state and guest speakers will attend. Those speakers include Past National President of the Gold Star Wives, Paula Muth and also our main speaker is General Robert Kehler, commander of STRATCOM at Offutt Air Force Base.
Tisdale says Veteran’s Day events are gaining in popularity. He believes there is much more patriotism since the terrorist attacks of 2001. He says more attention is drawn to our armed services and veterans. He says more color guards are doing presentations at schools, Boy Scout meetings and at other events.
There will be Veteran’s Day ceremonies and services in a number of Nebraska communities on Friday.
