Seven people suffered injuries in a school bus crash on Interstate 80 in Cass County Tuesday morning.
The Nebraska State Patrol reports that a semi-tractor trailer traveling east in I-80 changed lanes and struck a Kearney Public Schools bus, shoving it into the concrete median barrier, where the bus became lodged. One woman suffered injuries serious enough to be transported to Bryan-LGH West in Lincoln. Six students were also taken to Bryan-LGH West to be treated for minor injuries.
The school bus had 32 passengers on board, four adults and 28 students, traveling on field trip to Omaha. Those on board who didn’t need medical attention were taken to Ashland High School. The accident forced the closing of the interstate for a time. The crash remains under investigation.
