Wahoo National Guard unit returns tonight from Afghanistan

A large group of the state’s citizen-soldiers is coming home tonight.
About 160 members of a Nebraska National Guard engineering company will be returning from a year’s deployment in Afghanistan.
The welcome home ceremony is planned for 8:30 PM at Wahoo High School’s football field.
The 623rd Engineering Company is based in Wahoo, with a detachment in Hastings.
Governor Dave Heineman is scheduled to be among the dignitaries, along with the guard’s Adjutant General Judd Lyons.
