Chadron State took a 21-0 lead early in the third period and held on for a 21-13 victory over Western New Mexico. The Eagles gained 456 total net yards, as Brandon Gorsuch completed 19 of 33 passes for 279 yards and two touchdowns.
Wayne State gained a season-high 578 yards but scored on just two of seven possessions inside the Minnesota State 20-yard line as the Wildcats suffered a 45-23 setback. Wayne State finished with a season-high for yards.
The New Mexico Highlands Cowboys couldn’t handle the #13 Nebraska-Kearney Lopers 38-14. The Lopers turned the ball over six times throughout the game. The Lopers would score on their first three possessions and a defensive interception return for a touchdown helped them take an early 28-0 lead after the first quarter of play.
