Car thieves targeting Honda's in Omaha

A heads-up from Omaha police if Nebraskans are making a trip into Omaha anytime soon. Police are advising those who own late 90’s Honda Civic’s or Accord’s need to take extra measures to protect those vehicles from thieves.
More than 90 Honda’s have been stolen in the last few months from all over the city but usually occur in well populated areas during the early evening hours.
Police believe thieves are targeting these Honda’s because their anti-theft systems are easily defeated. Police are advising owners to get a back up security system like a steering wheel bar or to use the car alarm every time they park.
More than 90 Civic’s and Accords have been stolen in the last two months.
