Wayne State sweeps conference volleyball honors

Wayne State swept all three awards for the Northern Sun Conference Volleyball Players of the Week. Senior outside hitter Tali Fredrickson was the Offensive Player of the Week, sophomore setter Tatum Wroblewski was named Setter of the Week and senior libero Leigh Connot was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Fredrickson, a 5-7 senior outside hitter from Grand Island, Nebraska (Central Catholic HS), averaged 4.83 kills and 6.50 digs per set in weekend sweeps over Minnesota, Crookston and MSU Moorhead. Wroblewski, a 5-7 sophomore from St. Paul, Nebraska (St. Paul HS), averaged a league-leading 13.33 assists per set in the two weekend wins.
Connot, a 5-8 senior from Lincoln, Nebraska (Pius HS), led the league with 7.17 digs per set over the weekend. The 2010 NSIC Libero of the Year had 20 digs Friday vs. Minnesota, Crookston and 23 digs against MSU Moorhead Saturday.
