A tragic accident Friday morning in Omaha. Lt. Mike McGee with the Omaha Police Department says it involved a vehicle and a North High School student. He says the victim is a 15 or 16 year old female and she was crossing the street at 36th and Paxton Blvd around 7:00 Friday morning when she was hit by a westbound vehicle.
The girl was thrown several feet and her shoes and school supplies littered the area. Lt. McGee says she was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. Her condition improved once arriving at the hospital and she will recover.
The driver of the Chevy Blazer that hit the girl was cited for reckless driving and for having no insurance.
