Coming off her first individual title, Nebraska senior Madeleine Sheils won Big Ten Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week award. The native of Boise, Idaho had one of the best performances in Nebraska history, winning the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, this week. Sheils shot a career-best three-round total of 214, including a school-record-tying final-round 67.
At Sahalee, the course allowed just seven rounds better than par among 63 golfers over three rounds (189 total rounds). Her 67 was the only round better than 70 in the tournament, in a 12-team field that included six Pac-12 Conference teams and four teams ranked in the nation’s top 35.
