Division II football recap

The 7th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney football team had another 600 yard effort, and the defense forced three turnovers, in a 55-14 “Homecoming” win over Western State. The Lopers were averaging 53 points and 658 yards per game, and UNK finished with 605 yards (313 passing and 292 rushing). A 75-yard TD run came off the board in the third quarter due to a holding penalty.
Wayne State College forced six turnovers and scored a touchdown on special teams for the fourth straight game as the Wildcats defeated Northern State 37-10 Saturday afternoon in Northern Sun Conference football played at Swisher Field in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Wayne State College, now 20-7 in road NSIC games under head coach Dan McLaughlin, moves to 3-1 overall and 3-0 in the NSIC while Northern State drops to 1-3 and 0-3 in league play.
Jeremy Sondrup caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from Brandon Gorsuch that gave the Eagles a 14-13 lead with one minute, 38 seconds remaining in the game, and Adams State’s 38-yard field goal try as time expired went wide to the left to give CSC a thrilling Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory.
