Harms looks to extend term limits

State lawmakers may ask Nebraska voters for four more years. Senator John Harms told us, the state would benefit from extending Unicameral term limits to 12 years rather than eight.
“It’s a whole other game when you go into this thing of just how the system works, how the rules work, and how to learn to work with your colleagues and when you have to learn to give in a little bit, to get part of what you want to have, you don’t learn that overnight..you just don’t.”
Harms says the proposal might not be introduced in the coming session, but would require approval in both the State Legislature and from Nebraska voters to change the state constitution.
