NU women drop third in a row

The Husker women dropped all three basketball games in Las Vegas, losing last night to Louisville 65-51. The Cardinals forced NU into 19 turnovers as the Huskers played without senior Dominque Kelley. She had some pain in the knee that she had minor off season surgery on this fall. The pounding of two games in a row took it’s toll, better to be safe than sorry. It’s the first time since 2000-2001, that the Huskers have lost three in a row.
Jordan Hooper had her third career double-double and second of the Duel in the Desert, with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Hooper hit all three of her three-pointers in the second half to lead NU on their second half rally.
Sophomore Katya Leick, who made her first career start, nearly notched a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds to go along with two assists. She also hit a pair of three-pointers. Lindsey Moore pitched in seven points and four assists, while Catheryn Redmon and Kaitlyn Burke each pitched in six points.
