Playing in front of their largest women’s basketball crowd at D.J. Sokol Arena (2,061), the Creighton women’s basketball team lost 63-55 to Nebraska on Wednesday night. It was the sixth straight win for NU in this in-state rivalry.
Nebraska, ranked 22nd in this week’s Coaches Top 25, improved to 7-1 on the year. Creighton had its nine-game home winning streak snapped and fell to 4-3.
Freshman Carli Tritz had a career-high 21 points to lead Creighton. The Huskers were led by a freshman of their own, Jordan Hooper, who had 14 points and 10 rebounds, matching the 14 points from sophomore teammate Lindsey Moore.
