A tip takes down wanted gang members

More now on the sting operation in Central Nebraska that resulted in 12 gang members arrested and 2 fugitives on the run. The two Fugitives are now in the custody of Grand Island Police.
The two fugitives on the run after yesterday’s gang sweep have been apprehended thanks to an anonymous phone call. Andrew Esquitin and Adrian Casares were arrested last night at 15th and broadwell in Grand Island. The Criminal Investigation Division at the Grand Island Police Department said they received an anonymous tip that the two were seen in the area of broadwell and State Street.
The two were found in a pickup truck and were arrested without incident. The arrests come on the heels of yesterday morning sting operation were 12 people were arrested on a combination of federal drug and firearms charges. Weysan Dun the Special Agent in charge of the Omaha Office of the FBI says that law enforcement can’t take down gangs and crime alone.

In just a little more than one day, the newly formed FBI Safe Streets Task Force has crippled the efforts of the gang the East Side Locos. Now Officers from multiple State and Federal departments will work to prevent any other gangs from taking their place.
