Top-ranked Howells used two long scoring drives in the second half to take control for a 40-20 victory over No. 4 Giltner in the Class D-2 semifinals. Sargent rolled to a 36-6 halftime lead behind Guy Fenske, who rushed for 223 yards and four touchdowns on eight carries. Fenske also completed 7 of 11 passes for 113 yards and a TD.
West Point Central Catholic rallied from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter Monday night to beat previously undefeated Bancroft-Rosalie 50-46 in Bancroft. Overton scored with less than one minute to play, but its two-point conversion attempt failed when Overton was penalized for an illegal forward pass.
