Huskers get through final exhibition game with a win

Bellevue University came to Lincoln to looking for a game and the Huskers looked like they just wanted to get the regular season started. The Huskers still won 82-58 in their final exhibition game, but they turned the ball over 25 times and gave up 16 offensive rebounds. NU opens the seasons Friday against South Dakota and Doc Sadler wasn’t pleased with the effort.
NU got off to a quick start as they were led by Jorge Brian Diaz who led all scorers hitting 8-of-10 and finishing with a game high 17 points with 13 of those in the first half as NU jumped to a 43-25 lead after 20 minutes. The Huskers shot 58% for the game.
The Bruins shot just 30% for the game and were only 9 of 35 from three point range, but cut the lead to 15 before the Huskers went on another 10-0 spurt. Ben Imig led Bellevue with 14 points, including four 3-pointers.
