The Husker soccer team lost to 10th ranked Oklahoma State 3-2 in overtime on Friday night at the Big 12 championships. Morgan Marlborough and Jordan Jackson named to the All-tournament team. The Huskers find out at 3:30 Monday afternoon if they make the NCAA tournament field of 64.
Basketball, the Nebraska men play their final exhibition game against Bellevue, who is ranked third in the NAIA Division II preseason poll. Toney McCray and Eshaunte Jones, who sat out Wednesday’s 75-43 win over Peru State as punishment for missing a tutoring session will be dressed tonight. Dominique Kelley and Kaitlyn Burke, both coming off surgery, combined for 20 points and five assists to lead the Nebraska women to a 97-55 exhibition win over Nebraska-Kearney yesterday.
Kayla Banwarth set the Huskers volleyball record for digs with 18 in a sweep of Texas Tech on Saturday as the # 5 Huskers won (25-10, 25-19, 25-10). Banwarth entered the match two digs shy of breaking Jennifer Saleauma’s career record of 1,568 digs and with the Red Raiders staying away from the senior libero, she didn’t record her first dig until late in the first set. The record-setting dig came much quicker, just two rallies later Banwarth notched the 1,569th dig of her Nebraska career. The Dubuque, Iowa, native finished the day with a match-high 18 digs.
