10th ranked CU soccer takes over 1st place in MVC

The Missouri State men’s soccer team (7-6-2, 4-1-1) saw its 12-game unbeaten streak in regular season conference play come after No. 10 Creighton (12-3-1, 5-0-1) handed the Bears a 2-0 loss in Omaha, Neb. on Wednesday night.
Creighton went ahead in the 15th minute on a Missouri State own goal. The Bluejays doubled the lead in the 76th minute on a header goal by Sergio Castillo.
Bears’ senior goalkeeper Alex Riggs made four saves to keep the match close. The goals were the first surrendered by Riggs to the Bluejays since the 2008 MVC Tournament.
