Creighton takes game one against Nebraska

While history will show the Huskers have a sizable advantage over Creighton when it comes to baseball, the Bluejays seem to have had the upper hand recently, especially in Lincoln. On Tuesday, Creighton won 13-5 to win consecutive games in Lincoln for the first time since 1991 and 1992. The Jays have won three of the last four as the visitor.
Creighton jumped out to a 7-0 lead and set the tone early against NU starter Chase Adams who lost for the first time in his collegiate career. Elliot Soto and Alex Staehely hit back to back homers in the first. Nebraska answered with five runs in the bottom of the third off Mike Nihsen who couldn’t finish the third.
NU opened with a Kale Kiser double, Adam Bailey single and Tyler Farst single scored the first Husker run. After a strikeout, Chad Christensen brought home two runs with a double. Mark Winkelman Mike Nihsen and Cade Thompson singled up the middle to cut the lead to 7-4. DJ Belfonte singled to right to score the Huskers fifth run.
Trever Adams hit his fourth home run of the year, a two run shot to put CU up 9-5 and then the Jays added four unearned runs in the ninth off two Husker errors.
