Kelsey Griffin named All-American

For just the second time in program history, the Nebraska women’s basketball team has a first-team All-American. Senior Kelsey Griffin was named to the AP All-America team yesterday, the first honor for a Husker women’s basketball player in 17 years since Karen Jennings.
Griffin produced the fourth-highest scoring average by a Nebraska senior (20.1 points) and the best rebounding average (10.4). She also led the Huskers with 60 steals. Griffin finished her five year career at Nebraska with a school-record 127 starts, while joining 1993 Wade Trophy winner Jennings as the only players in Husker history with 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. Jennings, who was a first-team All-American at Nebraska in 1992 and 1993, was previously the only first-team All-American in Nebraska history.
