Howard recalls brutal death of the mother of two

Senator Gwen Howard OmahaA domestic violence bill that allows prior bad acts of the abuser to be included for purposes of sentencing is advancing in the State Legislature. Senator Gwen Howard of Omaha says she has been looking to have a bill like this one passed since she met a young mother named Tina while working for the Department of Health and Human Services.
“She was brutally knifed 21 times by her husband in front of her two toddler children.  They were each in a crib on the opposite side of the bedroom, she was killed in between them.”
The bill allows acts committed against other partners to be brought into the record and takes away the limitations on which incidents can be brought up in court for the matter of sentencing.
