Elimination of treasurer resolution advances again

You may get the final say on whether or not Nebraska has a State Treasurer. On second round, the legislature has voted for a constitutional amendment to eliminate the position. Senator John Harms of Scottsbluff supports the resolution and says talk of a study on the office is a waste of time.
“I’ve heard a lot of discussion here about studies, folks, I tell you what, we study government so much that nothing ever gets done, I mean look at all the studies that you can go into our own research center or go into the clerks office and take a look at all the studies that are there, it’s unbelievable, and how many people go back and read those?”
Those opposing the elimination of the State Treasurer position say it will just make other parts of government bigger. If it passes a third time, the resolution will be placed on the ballot.
