More talk about the budget this morning in the legislature as Senators continue to worry about the upcoming April report from the economic forecasting board. Senator Bob Krist of Omaha says it’s time to take a closer look at what’s really needed.
“The reality is we are not cutting across the board at 2%, there are sacred cows out there, that if our times truly do get worse instead of better, those sacred vows are going to have to be looked at hard.
The state could be looking at a deficit of anywhere from hundreds of millions of dollars to even $1 billion in the next biennium.
