The Creighton men’s basketball team (16-15) will host South Dakota (22-9) on Tuesday, March 16, at 7 pm Central in opening-round action of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.
The game will take place at the Omaha Civic Auditorium since Qwest Center Omaha, the program¹s home since 2003, is already booked.
This is Creighton’s first trip to the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament, an event in just its second season. It is a single-elimination tournament, consisting of four rounds, with games played at on-campus sites as determined by seeding. The event features eight opening-round games, four quarterfinal games, a semifinal round and then the championship game.
This also extends Creighton’s MVC record with its 13th straight postseason appearance. On a national basis, only Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse, Duke, Gonzaga, Michigan State, Maryland, Oklahoma State, Florida, Creighton, Arizona and Stanford have been to the past 12 postseasons.
Tickets for Tuesday’s game went on sale to Creighton season-ticketholders and Jaybackers last Friday and will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday at Noon. All tickets are $15.
Doors to the Omaha Civic Auditorium for Tuesday¹s game will open at 6:00p.m.
