Walk for Warmth helping those in need

Helping less fortunate families in the metro Omaha area is what the Walk for Warmth is all about. Jamie Moore is a spokesperson for United Way and says they are receiving many more calls requesting assistance with their heating bills and for other financial help. She says many of the calls are from senior citizens. The 2-1-1 Call Center averaged between 20 to 30 calls a month and that has now spiked to over 50.
The 3rd annual Walk for Warmth is a one mile hike at Heartland of America Park in Omaha. The walk will be held Friday, February 26th and it will start at 6 pm.
The past two walks have raised a combined total of $75,000.
