Counterfit county checks circulating

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a number of incidents where someone is cashing checks that appear to have come from the County Clerk’s office. Three checks have been cashed that have turned out to be fake. The Sheriff’s Office is urging the public to be vigilant when accepting a check.
