Husker men drop seventh in a row

Iowa State’s Craig Brackins scored 11 of his 21 points in the final six minutes as he carried his team on his shoulders as once again the Huskers just can’t finish off an opponent losing 78-74 in Ames, Iowa.
The Huskers were up by double digits in the first half and led by nine in the second half. It was the Huskers seventh loss in a row as they fall to 1-12 on the Big 12 and will be the final seed in the Big 12 tournament that starts on March 10th.
Christian Standhardinger and Lance Jeter came up big for the Huskers with 25 and 21 points, respectively. They shot a combined 47% on 16-of-27 shooting, including 9 of 19 on three pointers. After NU jumped out to a 12-4 lead, ISU scored 10 straight points, but then the Huskers regained the lead and led by seven at the break.
In the second half, the Huskers had a second half lead by six points, but Brackins and Scott Christopherson rattled off Iowa State’s next 17 points late in the second half to pull away.
