Those serving our country overseas will now be able to make sure their vote counted under legislation from Lincoln Senator Bill Avery that is moving through the first round.
“It would require us to set up a new website that would allow the voters who have requested these ballots and have voted, allow them to check on the status of the ballot that’s basically what it does that we don’t now do.”
Some Senators say this is just the beginning of moving voting itself into the Internet age. This bill only allows electronic verification that the overseas vote was counted and received.
