Minors in possession of alcohol may lose the right to drive

Teens 18 and under could have their licenses suspended for up to a year for being a minor in possession of alcohol under a bill advancing in the legislature.
“It’s to make a difference in this great state and to have a public policy that says to our teenagers we are no longer going to tolerate allowing you to kill yourself.”
Senator John Harms of Scottsbluff says minors have been using citations for underage drinking as a badge of honor. Senator Brad Ashford of Omaha says the state needs to be clear with kids that this type of behavior is not acceptable.
