Bruning expects lethal injection to be used soon

Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning expects the state to begin soon using the recently approved lethal-injection protocol.
“We got 12 people on death row, I think each of them are clearly guilty, I think we’ve gone through a process that gave them every opportunity to show their innocence, none of them were even close in my mind and I think of those involved in the processĀ  But I think this three drug protocol, I hate to call it humane because it’s putting someone to death, but I think it’s the least flashy way to do it.”
Bruning tells us that he expects legal challenges, but says that he expects Nebraska’s protocol for executing death row inmates to hold up. Governor Heineman approved the protocol this week.
