Paulson and Buffett speak in Omaha

Former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett took to the state today at a Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting. Paulson spoke on the financial crisis that hit this country while George W. Bush was president and stated that both knew it was coming.
“I knew we were overdue for a credit crisis and I told the President that but it had been building up in the United States and Europe.”
Paulson also spoke on the importance of the federal bailout and the roles of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Paulson says Freddie and Fannie likely will not stay in their present form and a restructuring is likely.
Paulson also talked about his newly released book: “On the Brink: Inside the Race to Stop the Collapse of the Global Financial System”. Over two-thousand people attended today’s annual meeting.
