Creighton to play Loyola-Chicago for BracketBuster

The Creighton men’s basketball team will host Loyola Chicago on Feb. 20th as part of the BracketBuster series. The game will not be televised by ESPN and a start time should come later this week.
Creighton is currently 11-11 and tied for third in the Missouri Valley Conference with a 6-5 league record. Kenny Lawson Jr. leads the Bluejays with 12.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
Loyola Chicago is 12-9 this season and eighth in the Horizon League with a 3-8 conference mark. The Ramblers are 5-6 away from home this season, including a 68-65 road win at Bradley on Dec. 16th. Terrance Hill (12.0 ppg.) and Walt Gibler (11.2 ppg.) top the team in scoring.
The Ramblers are coached by Jim Whitesell, who is 91-85 in his sixth season at the school. He owns a career mark of 369-279 in 23 years overall as a college head coach.  Loyola owns a 11-5 lead in the all-time series with Creighton, though the schools have not met since Dec. 12, 1981.
Creighton returns to action on Wednesday with a 7 pm game against Evansville.
