A Rocky Mountain low for NU men

As well as the season has gone for the NU women, the same can’t be said about the NU men. They dropped to 0-5 in Big 12 play after the Colorado Buffaloes forced the men into 16 turnovers. The Huskers come up on the short end of a 72-60 decision Wednesday night in Boulder.
The Buffs shot well, hitting 49% for the game, while they a 10-2 run in the first half in building their lead and win. The Huskers didn’t get off to a very good start either. In the first seven minutes they managed a field goal from Ryan Anderson while turning the ball over six times. Despite the slow start, NU was only down 9-6 with just over 12 minutes to play in the first half.
However, Colorado’s 10-2 run pushed their lead to 28-15 in the final two minutes of the half. As the lead was as high as 20, NU made a little push getting three straight buckets from Myles Holley and then Christian Standhardinger scored 12 of NU’s next 15 points, but the Buffs hit their free throws to keep the Huskers at arm’s length in the second half.
NU shot just 39% for the game and will look for their first Big 12 win at home against Oklahoma during a stretch that will feature three of the next four games at the Devaney Center.
