Bill keeps sex offenders from skirting the law

Nebraskans convicted of abusing adults and Children and those that are registered sex offenders will not be able to skirt the law just by changing their name under legislation being advanced in the State Legislature. Senator Pete Pirsch of Omaha introduced the bill.
“The bill improves the accuracy of the registries by authorizing the clerk’s of the state’s various district courts to electronically send a copy of any name change, court ordered, to the custodians of the three registries.”
There had been instances where an offender had changed his name and the registries had not been updated.
