Pelini's philosophy…up and at 'em early

The Husker football team held their last of three practices in San Diego yesterday working out for about 90 minutes at San Diego State University in half pads. Head coach Bo Pelini says the team is coming in healthy and that offensive tackle Marcel Jones and defensive end Pierre Allen are the healthiest they’ve been in awhile. So today, the Huskers will hold a walk through at Qualcomm Stadium with the Holiday Bowl against Arizona tomorrow night at 7:30.
Pelini has a philosophy…early to bed, early to rise. Or in this case, it might be the other way around. Either way, it’s worked for Pelini when it comes to getting ready for a football game and enjoying the bowl experience. Here’s Sean Callahan with more from San Diego.
Freshmen running back Rex Burkhead is in California for the second time in his life and he’s making sure he’s enjoying this trip. Burkhead was recruited by the Cal Bears.
Finally today, it was not a good start to the bowl season for the Big 12. Texas A & M handled by Georgia in the Independence Bowl 44-20. Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach suspended from the Alamo Bowl as he is investigated about how he treated a player after a concussion.
