Creighton's hot start leads to easy win

The Creighton men’s basketball team never trailed in Wednesday’s 77-62 win over Savannah State at Qwest Center Omaha. The Bluejays are undefeated in four tries at home this season. The Jays are 4-5 on the year.
CU jumped out to a 16-2 lead thanks to Kenny Lawson Jr. hitting the first three shotsLay-ups from Darryl Ashford and Wayne Runnels followed to make it 10-2, with Runnels finishing off a traditional three-point play to make it 11-2. P’Allen Stinnett would then drain a three-pointer before tipping in a Lawson miss to make it 16-2. CU’s lead would remain in double-figures the rest of the evening, including 27-15 at the half.
True freshmen Ethan Wragge hit three three-pointers in a span of 2:46 as CU built its largest lead of the night at 57-36 with 11:01 remaining. Wragge had 18 points to lead four Jays in double-figures. Stinnett had 10 points and a career-best nine rebounds, while Lawson Jr. (12) and Wayne Runnels (11) also scored in double-digits.
Creighton returns to action on Saturday at 8 pm when it plays at No. 19 New Mexico.
