Governor talks about what's next

The just completed special session of the Nebraska Legislature could be just the beginning. Governor Dave Heineman called lawmakers back to Lincoln to cut three hundred thirty four million dollars from the two year budget.  Heineman says finding money for highways will be one of the next big issues for the state.
“That’s one of the great challenges we’re going to face over the next 5 to 10 years – we know we need roads, we need to upgrade them, we need some new roads, we need to maintain our safety, the real question is how do you pay for them, and that is a challenge we’re going to address, there is no easy answers to that one.”
Heineman says the state will have to rely on help from the federal government to continue any highway improvement programs.
