O'Hanlon named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week

After a rough and tumble game against Oklahoma on Saturday, there were a few extra bumps and bruising for the Huskers on Monday, so head coach Bo Pelini decided to throttle down on the contact.
After that win at Missouri, there may have been some who felt that there was a letdown the next two weeks. Now, after such a dominating defensive performance against the Sooners, is head coach Bo Pelini fearful of a letdown?  He said there was no letdown, the team just played inconsistent and I agree.  The Huskers were not that good at Missouri and got hot at the right time of that game.  No doubt, over the last couple of games, the team has been playing better.
Senior safety Matt O’Hanlon was named Big 12 Defensive Player-of-the-Week, following his three interceptions on Saturday night. The Bellevue, Neb. tied the school record with three interceptions, made 12 tackles and had a pass break-up. O’Hanlon became just the fourth Husker to intercept three passes in a game. He leads the team with four interceptions this season. It was a relief for O’Hanlon to put that Virginia Tech game behind after that blown coverage play. His position coach Marvin Sanders says it’s just all apart of the process.
For what could be the game that decides the Big 12 North, the Huskers-K-State game on the 21st will kick at 6:45 and air on ESPN or ESPN2.
