November 3rd is an election day for many cities, towns and school districts around South Carolina.
State Election Commission Spokesperson Chris Whitmire says around 40 percent of the state’s local elections will be held Tuesday.

As a small sample of Tuesday’s many events: there are three at-large positions up for grabs on the Pickens City Council. Voters in eight of the 16 municipalities within Charleston County will cast ballots. In West Columbia, there is an election of four members of Council.
Whitmire says the state Election Commission is not directly involved with local elections but offers direction to official, and are always there for voters who need information or have a complaint.
Whitmire reminds voters to always take an official ID to the polls.
Whitmire advises voters to check with the local election commission, or call the state Election Commission to find out about local elections and voting locations.
