Loper football wins 8th straight, ranked Wayne State falls

The 13th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney Lopers racked up 597 yards beating Fort Lewis 59-14 and rolling to their 8th straight win for the first time since 1977. Augustana quarterback threw a 14 yard scoring pass with just under four minutes to play to give the Vikings a 27-24 win over 22nd ranked Wayne State.
After Ft. Lewis took the lead on a 65-yard TD pass from Tim Jenkins to Phillip Dodd to make the score 14-7, UNK scored 31 unanswered points. The Lopers ran for 306 yards and 4 TD’s while throwing for 291 yards and 3 TD’s. On the other side, the Hawks ran just 13 times for 27 yards while completing 32 passes for 323 yards.
Wayne State outgained Augustana in the game 471-426. The Wildcats had 153 yards rushing and 318 passing while the Vikings had 93 on the ground and 333 through the air. For Wayne State, senior quarterback Silas Fluellen completed 22 of 36 passes with one interception and one touchdown for 318 yards.
