Seventy Lincoln members of a Nebraska Army national Guard medical company were wished farewell over the weekend. National Guard Public Information Officer David Nore told us that they’re preparing to deploy overseas in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
“This is the second time that the 313th Medical Company has been mobilized for Operation Iraqi Freedom. It was first mobilized in October 2004 to November 2005. Following the ceremony, the soldiers are going to move to Fort Hood Texas for additional training before they deploy to the Central Command Theater of Operation.
The soldiers will be responsible for providing ground evacuation and medical treatment.
