Nebraskans feeling the effects of the recession

While Nebraska reached the recession later than most of the country, UNL Economist Dr. Eric Thompson told us, the local economy shouldn’t recover later because of the late entry into the recession.
“Now it’ll still feel like a recession for awhile in terms of the labor market, in terms of tax revenues, but I don’t think that means we’re getting out of the recession late, those problems are happening everywhere
Thompson says Nebraska’s economy was in better shape at the start of the economic crisis and the area will feel a shallower recession. But he cautions against a shallow recovery saying it would easy for the economy to fall back into recession.
