Four Greenville Police Officers accused of beating homeless people

At least four Greenville police officers are under investigation for their alleged beating of homeless people.
Greenville Police Sgt. Jason Rampey says those officers have all resigned.  Rampey says the problem was discovered internally.
SLED Director Reggie Lloyd said the Greenville Police Chief contacted his agency about allegations that the officers beat homeless people. SLED then contacted the FBI because of potential civil rights violations.
Rampey says there isn’t much he can say about the case because of the investigation except that it was not brought to the Police Department’s attention by any members of the public.
The officers may face state charges as well as federal charges.
