Omaha's goalie win award, UNO wins exhibition game

Hockey is off to a quick start in the state of Nebraska as Omaha’s Jeff Teglia has been named USHL Goaltender of the Week. Teglia posted 25 saves on 26 shots as the Lancers beat the visiting Tri-City Storm 3-1 Saturday evening at the Civic Auditorium in the first game of the season.
Teglia’s stopped 15 second period shots to help preserve a one goal lead into the third period. The UNO hockey team used two third period goals to earn a 2-1 win in their season-opening exhibition game against the University of Lethbridge on Monday night at Qwest Center Omaha. Nick Von Bokern scored on the powerplay with less than six minutes remaining to deliver the win.
The Mavericks begin their season on Friday hosting Army in their annual Icebreaker Tournament.
