Omaha sends fans home with a big win

Alex Gordon and Mario Lisson went deep again for the Royals in back to back games as Omaha chased Iowa starter Jeff Samardzija after just 2.2 innings for a 17-7 win to wrap up the home portion of the 2009 schedule
Samardzija got roughed up for six runs on 10 hits in his short outing as the Royals reached season highs in runs and hits (21). The Royals scored three runs in the first and then three more in the third after Iowa tied the game.
Cory Aldridge went 4 for 4, Alex Gordon was 3 for 4 and drove in five runs, and Scott Thorman drove in three runs. The Royals now finish the season just outside of Austin, TX with a season ending series at Round Rock.
