Big Red Report-focus shifts to Florida Atlantic

The focus of the Husker football team goes from what is “fall practice” into normal game week operations as Nebraska prepares for the Owls of Florida Atlantic.
Both Bo and Carl Pelini when asked about the Owls mention their starting quarterback first. They’re talking about Rusty Smith. The senior is the Owls record holder in completions, attempts, yards, touchdowns and rushing and passing total yards which will top 8,000 in this first game at Nebraska. Smith was named the Motor City Bowl MVP when he completed 20 of 35 passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns. Last year, he threw 32 touchdowns and he holds the Sunbelt record for throwing for 3,688 yards in 2007
Later this morning, Bo Pelini speaks with the national media for the first time during the Big 12 coaches teleconference. I’ll have that posted on our sports section at Nebraskaradionetwork.com.
