Ex-Royal hurts former team

Travis Metcalf, who was released from the Omaha Royals last Wednesday hit two homers and drove in three runs against his former team as the Oklahoma Red Hawks beat the Royals 10-4.  I’m sure Metcalf was pumped up and looking forward to this game. It was his first since his release and hit his two homers in back to back innings in the third and fourth which gave the Red Hawks a 6-1 lead.
Alex Gordon is settling into his new digs in Omaha. The former Nebraska All-American from Lincoln Southeast went 2 for 3 with a walk and a run scored. He is now 6 for 18 since Kansas City sent him down to AAA. DH Brian Buchanan was named Pacific Coast League player of the week. He too went 6 for 18 with two homers and 12 RBIs in four games. Buchanan had been on the disabled list for almost a month and jumped right back into the lineup and took off.
