Governor appoints new Board of Education member

A new member for the Nebraska Board of Education. Governor Dave Heineman announced today that he has selected former Republic Party Mark Quandahl to serve on the state education board. The 47 year old replaces Kerry Winterer who resigned last month when Heineman hired him as director of the Department of Health and Human Services.
Quandahl, an attorney, was a state senator from 1999 to 2005 before becoming chairman of the Nebraska Republican Party.
