Saltdogs smashed by Wingnuts

The Wichita Wingnuts scored eight runs in the top of the fifth inning, on their way to an easy 12-2 win over the Lincoln Saltdogs on Monday night at Haymarket Park.
Lincoln starter Brian Campbell (3-5) gave up a leadoff home run and two walks, before exiting with an undisclosed injury. Wichita then teed off against the Saltdogs bullpen, putting up three more extra-base hits in the frame and walking away with an 8-1 advantage. The Wingnuts added another run in the sixth inning, and then scored twice in the eighth and once in the ninth off.
Lincoln had taken a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth, on a sacrifice fly by Shea McFeely. They scored their other run of the night in the eighth inning on an RBI groundout. , when Jake Jadlowski hit an RBI groundout.
The Saltdogs remain a game and a half on top in the North Division of the American Association, ahead of St. Paul.
