Bruha wins, Pohlman leads…area golf roundup

Scott Bruha of Meadowlark Hills in Kearney claimed his second Callaway Golf Nebraska PGA Assistant Championship title and three-time defending champion Jane Pohlman of Omaha shot 76 Monday for a one-stroke lead over Julie Hall of Norfolk after the first round of the Nebraska women’s senior golf championship at York Country Club.
Bruha’s 36-hole score Monday of even-par 144 was good for a one-stroke win over Derek Nicholson of Beatrice Country Club. Both advance to the national PGA Assistant Championship on Oct. 1 to 4 in Florida.
The women’s senior championship continues through Wednesday. Here is the leaderboard through round one.
