Saltdogs in first place in North Division

Saltdogs starter Jim Paduch allowed just one unearned run on four hits over seven innings of work as the Saltdogs move a game above .500 at 9-8. With a 6-1 win over Sioux City. Paduch walked three and struck out seven. Sioux City’s only run came in the top of the fifth, when Derek Schermerhorn stole third and scored on a throwing error.
Phil Hawke hit a two run homer in the bottom of the first, his tenth of the year. The Saltdogs then broke the game open with four runs in the sixth. Shawn McGill drove in the first run of the frame with a sacrifice fly, and Steve Alexander followed with an RBI single. Two batters later, Brandon Jones finished off the rally with a two run homer, his seventh of the season.
